Dimitrios Athanasopoulos is an undergraduate student, in Informatics and Computer Engineering at the University of West Attica (UniWA).
In 2025, he joined the Google Summer of Code under GFOSS (Open Technologies Alliance) for the project GlossAPI, where he now continues as a member of the development team.
His interests lie in building applications centered around Artificial Intelligence, with an emphasis on natural language processing, computer vision, and data-driven systems. His work spans from designing and training machine learning models to developing end-to-end software solutions that integrate these models into real-world applications. With hands-on experience in large-scale data pipelines, OCR technologies, and vision-language models, he is particularly interested in creating AI tools that are practical, scalable, and openly accessible.”
